I'm Gonna Be A Doctor!!!

Hello. It's lovely to meet you. (Or see you, I suppose, if I know you already.)

I figured that, since I begin my true journey toward a career in medicine in just four days, I have decided to let you experience everything that happens to me. Ideally, that means I will be regularly updating this blog for the next 5+ years. However, I have taken into consideration the fact that, while not rocket science, I am sure medical school will challenge the hell out of me. Therefore, I have had to come to terms with the idea that I may not post on here as often as I wish. Heck, I may never post on here again. But right now, just after midnight, starting this blog seemed like a good idea. So here I am.

I think that the way I want to format this blog (despite the perceived spontaneity these posts will have, I do enjoy having a rough outline) will be to keep a running feed of "what is happening in my program at the moment" stuff. Along the way, I will inject numerous blips (I call them that so I feel they will be shorter, but most likely they won't) of advice or issues that came up as an undergraduate, so that I can feel that I am doing some of the world good by offering my insight. Whether or not these so-called blips will help you with anything is unimportant. What's really imperative is that I feel special and helpful. You actually being able to enjoy yourself and learn something will hopefully pop in as a nice side effect of my word vomit.

I fully intended on beginning my actual posts tonight but, despite the two Cokes and the glass of iced tea I had this evening, I am exhausted. I also have to wake up in five and a half hours, but you probably really don't care too much about that. Which doesn't offend me. In fact, I would think it rather unhealthy of you to worry excessively about my sleeping habits (which I think are normally, well, normal). Thank you for your concern though. I'm fine.

In closing, I want to say that I hope I do continue to write this throughout my bridge program and medical school itself. Not enough people talk about the nitty gritty. And I like me some nitty gritty.

To make this post somewhat thought provoking, I will leave you with this image. Research them if you wish, but I will have more about them in my next post, as well as which one I am a fan of.

Cheers!!!
